The focus is entirely on the practical application of safe working procedures on and around de-energised electrical installations. For those looking for added value.

Who is it for?

For people who carry out direct work on electrical installations. This includes employees responsible for maintenance, as well as those performing replacements and repairs on electrical installations. No prior knowledge is required.

This training can only take place at the practical training centre in Ostend (Esplanadestraat 1, 8400 Ostend).

Training duration.

This training course lasts 1 day (5 hours of theory and 2 hours of practical exercises) and can accommodate a maximum of 6 participants. Due to the practical exercises, this training can only take place at the training centre in Ostend.

When is this training recommended?

The BA4 Masterclass training is highly recommended when an employee:

  • Performs direct work on the installation.
  • Does not hold a BA5 certificate.

What will you learn?

Part 1 – General Principles

  • Module 1: Purpose of the training
  • Module 2: Basic electricity
  • Module 3: Legal framework
  • Module 4: Responsibilities

Part 2 – Protective Measures

  • Module 5: Personal protective measures
  • Module 6: Risk factors related to electricity
  • Module 7: Personal protection
  • Module 8: Line protection
  • Module 9: Circuit breaker

Part 3 – Safe Working Practices

  • Module 10: LMRA & LOTO
  • Module 11: Working on de-energised installations
  • Module 12: Live working
  • Module 13: Safe commissioning and decommissioning of an installation

Part 4 – Practical training

  • Module 12:
    • Taking an installation out of service (preparation, switching off, securing (LOTOTO), measuring, marking off the area)
    • Putting an installation back into service (after a short circuit, after an overload, after an insulation fault)
    • Replacing a lamp
    • Replacing a socket outlet
    • Learning how to take measurements using a measuring device

Exam and certificate

After the training, an exam is held. Upon successful completion, a BA4 Instructed Person Masterclass certificate can be obtained. This certificate is valid for 5 years.

Please note! You may only actually start working as a BA4 Instructed Person after your employer has issued a declaration of competence to you (based on your obtained training certificate).
