Training duration?

This training course lasts 2 hours and can accommodate a maximum of 12 participants.

When is this training recommended?

The BA4 Light training course is highly recommended when an employee:

  • Works in the immediate vicinity of an electrical installation (e.g. within 1 metre of a switchboard, cable, or distribution board).
  • Does not perform any direct work on the installation but is still exposed to a risk of electric shock or fire due to the presence of electricity.
  • Does not hold a BA5 certification.

Practical application of the theory

The theoretical training is followed by a practical exercise in an electrical cabinet, where participants receive an explanation of the different safety devices present in an electrical cabinet. Participants learn how to safely operate both a residual current device (RCD) and a circuit breaker (fuse). More specifically, you will learn what steps to take to safely restore the power supply when, for whatever reason, a fuse or switch has tripped.

Exam and certificate

After the training, a short exam is held. Upon successful completion, a BA4 Light Instructed Person training certificate can be obtained. This certificate is valid for 5 years.

Please note! You may only actually start working as a BA4 Instructed Person after your employer has issued a declaration of competence to you (based on your obtained training certificate).
